Marriage

Freddie to his cousin “It’s tragic, Izzy wants to marry me, but it’s not going to happen because I want children and Izzy can’t have them.”

Cousin “Ohhhh.”

Freddie “She can adopt of course.”

Cousin “Mmmm”

  1. Amazing how many men feel that it’s important to have “fruit of their loins.” How many of them take a fully active role in raising the children they father? That’s what fatherhood is really about. Hmmm, indeed!

    1. Interesting comment. I see Freddie’s statement as an affirmation that is sister is indeed a girl, that she will be a mother. It is puzzling that he has such strong feelings as to having children snd them being “the fruit of his loins” but I think at age seven this has more to do with experience, he’s not wuite as worldly as he will be.

      1. I’m new to your site. I’ve clicked around on interesting titles just enough to be aware of your support of gender ID issues, and could tell the conversation was not between adults, I had no idea we were talking about KIDs. My apologies 🙂

Of course you are right that ways of fathering is a concept far beyond the understanding of the majority of 7 year olds. Most don’t even understand adoption.

After reading your About page, I now see Freddie’s concerns as incredibly open to Izzy’s change.

I should probably pull back on commenting and stick to likes, huh?

  2. Not at all! If you hadn’t taken the time to comment, I wouldn’t have replied and you might not have had the opportunity to see the bigger picture. I completely understand your point of view, I’m aware that lots of men but also many women struggle with the idea of adoption. I couldn’t judge as I was able to carry my own children, but I can say that the yearning to have a child was great, physically, mentally and emotionally and I don’t how I would have felt if it weren’t possible.

All that aside, welcome and thank you for reading on xxx
